Finestkind Boatyard History

In 1981, with the summer cruising season ever extending, the owners of
Finestkind Scenic Cruises, in Ogunquit, Maine, decided to expand the realm of
their operation. A trusted name in coastal Maine cruises since 1956, business
was booming and more business meant less time to maintain their three wooden
cruise boats.

The search began for an ample, shorefront parcel that
afforded enough room for outdoor boat storage and a considerable workshop
to facilitate custom repairs and renovations to the Finestkind boats. After
careful inspection of numerous properties and much deliberation, they
selected the ideal location, along the crisp, tree lined shores of Basin
Cove in South Harpswell.

More than twenty-five years have passed and Finestkind Boatyard has flourished.
In addition to providing a winter home for the Finestkind cruise boats, the
yard now cares for more than 120 boats. Since its inception Finestkind
Boatyard remains a year round business. We welcome the opportunity to
store, maintain, or improve your prized possession. Our skillful staff
and attention to detail are what keeps our customers coming back
year after year.
